Hello from UK
Hi all
I enjoy this site very much, and until today was content to just lurk. I have been loving my PRS300 for 3 weeks now, and feel that it can only get better with the community support here in the forum. I love reading, and I find I can read it comfortably in lowlight while my husband watches that blonde on "Ice Road Truckers." Who does her hair by the way! Patricia |

Hi Patricia and welcome to MobileRead. I've had a Sony 505 for over two years and really like it. Okay, okay, 'like' isn't the correct word; I'm addicted to the thing. And, BTW, this forum is also addictive and, once you've joined there is no backing out!

Hello, Patricia1066!
Did you know we have another Patricia here that creates beautifully formatted books for the MR Library? Have you had a chance to look through them yet? They have been beautifully handcrafted by some very dedicated MR members. ePub format and my 505 can read the lrf, but I'm not sure if yours can. Just in case... Sony BBeB / lrf format Free ebook sites.. feedbooks.com and manybooks.net Free and for purchase ebooks .. smashwords.com and baen.com Plus Baen has a free library You can explore using Calibre to manage your library of DRM free books. and Kovid, the creator, frequents the forums here. We even have a dedicated Calibre forum. Have fun in the forums and ask if you have any questions. ![]() PS Check my signature and click on the links to find more information. |

Hi and thanks for your warm welcome.
I love Patricia's work - I am enjoying the Little House series at the moment. I must read how to thank her. I have seen the word karma used - is that thanks or something else? I have been downloading loads of Kindle books for ipod touch and sony ereader because its so easy (and cheap!) How few of them have bothered with TOC or any artwork. Patricia puts great care in presenting her work, and any author would be delighted that their work is revived by her. |

Karma is a great way to say "thank you" or let someone know you really liked something. Another great way to thank one of the members who upload books to the MR Library is to post a thank you in that book thread. ![]() |

Good to have your company, Patricia. Glad you're happy with your Sony. Some beautifully re-formatted classics have been produced by members here for free download. In my experience, better than anything on offer elsewhere. Some even have perrfectly reproduced original illustrations. Well worth taking a look. Trouble is, you're spoiled for choice. Look forward to your posts. Iechyd da. Neil

Good morning,
I live in Bromley just a short train into Central London, and today the sun is shining. Its Spring! I'm not working this week and me and Chris are planning a visit to the Science Museum. Hi Patricia, thank you for dropping in to welcome me. Its amazing the time and care that you and the other editors give to this work. I like the books that you have chosen to edit. I read Brat Farrar recently in paperback, and afterwards saw that it was in public domain and that you had reformatted it. Your avatar looks like a character from the Sistine chapel ceiling. Hi happy_terd, lurking is such an expressive word, more of the "lurking behind curtain with Polonius", less of "viewing from a distance". Hi dreams, what a lovely avatar you have. Thanks for those links, baen particularly is great. I have been enjoying pulp science fiction for years from that site. The eink reader may be new but the number of devices I have forced to perform the task is legion. Even my nokia phone has a reader. This is probably the only forum where people understand the need to read exceeds the need to text or call. Patricia |

Yes, my avatar is one of Michelangelo's sibyls.
My partner went to school in Bromley, and some of his family sre still in Forest Hill. If you like Josephine Tey then we've got all her mysteries now. |
