PRS-505 price

If you could buy a second hand PRS-505 tomorrow, how much would you be willing to pay for it? Lets assume its in great condition, no scratches etc.

Wanting to know as someone is selling one but im not sure what they're worth?

I am ready to buy a PRS-505 as well, and have been pricing them, to get the best value possible.

For example, on eBay, the last 3 ending auctions I've watched for dark Blue PRS-505s have been about $227, $227, and $202 respectively.

Silver 505s as we know are at 2-3x more common but whos prices aren't that much different.

By the way my first e-reader was the Astak 5" EZp and after the novelty wore off, I just found its screen's contrast not up to par, esp after reading and seeing the 505's screen. So now that's why I'm looking to buy the 505.

UPDATE: Just found a used Dk blue 505 on the bay for $229 shipped.

I find it amazing how these devices have held their value. My wife originally paid around 250 dollars for my 505...

I've been toying with buying a used 505, but should I worry about battery life?

As I understand it, you can easily purchase and replace the 505's battery.

I'm in the market too and am not concerned at all with battery life.

I've replaced the battery and upgraded the hard drive in my Zune so I'm very sure the PRS won't be any big deal at all.

For all interested in the Sony 505, I understand that in some countries these units are not sold any more, while here in Germany it is one of the few eBook readers you can get in the shops. They are around EUR 200. (new and includes 19% VAT) Used 505s on the German eBay are not much cheaper.

Just got the PRS-505 in the mail yesterday. It replaces the first E-Reader I had; the Astak EZ 5" Pro which I had but just 2 weeks. I can definitely see how the 505 is superior in most ways; screen, user interface, and also the e-reader library software which is actually pretty decent. Contrast and readability is so much better. Also like the typically excellent Sony build quality and all-metal housing.
The only books I have so far are the .lit freebees that originally came with my first PDA; the Cassiopeia E-125. Calibre-converted them to epub and all is well. Now to finish the 2nd half of Dracula which seems much more fun to read on an electronic device rather than a paperback...

Just bought a PRS-505 off ebay for AUD290

that's USD260 and GPB175, so...

they've gone a little bit cheaper but not by much on ebay.
