which firmware version has the best contrast rate?

since dr 1000's 2.0 firmware has a worse contrast rate than the 1.7 one, i was wondering if any previous version of firmware even has a better contrast rate than 1.7? The irex company seems already facing difficulties, in case it doesn't survive, we have to find our own way to improve the device. thanks

That's news to me. Where's that from?
My thread "unboxing iRex 800" was very well received. Way better than the ones about Spring Design Alex, BeBook Neo or some others.
My guess was: Lots of interest = good sales figures.
I've expected iRex 800 being quite successful, thus iRex being healthy and stable.

I believe this is because the previous firmware generation (1.X) included some anti-aliasing type enhancements in the document viewer plugins that haven't been incorporated into the 2.0 firmware yet.

There was a discussion about this (including input from some iRex developers) a while ago. I don't remember off the top of my head if they said whether it would be fixed before the final 2.0 release.

it's a rumor told by a friend saying that in the face of fierce comepetitions from Ipad and other companies, Irex is considering lower the price, not sure about the credibility. but small companies often have problems when giant corps entering into the market, and it worries me when there has no progress been made by Irex in a while. hope they are doing good.
