				Books by Date

For some reason, when I go to view my books by date on my 505, it only shows books for 'Today' and nothing for any of the other headers (Earlier this week, last week, etc.). All of the books are there, of course, and the dates are in the correct order when I go the 'Today' button, but it seems wrong to me. Maybe this is a calibre sync issue? Any ideas? |

Thanks for the response Bob. If that were true then it's not working as designed. I transferred two books today but it shows all 129 of my books as 'Today'. Weird. |

both reader models have no internal clock. The 500's USB protocol used to sync up the internal clock every time you connected the reader. The 505 has no mechanism to do this, so it's internal times go all haywire.

What if you synced up using the Sony Connect software? Are they any non-Calibre users that use Sony's software to sync that can verify they have the same bug?

I am always afraid to mess with Sony Connect. I'll give it a shot tonight and report tomorrow to see if it shows the date correctly.

Connect is the program used for the 500. You'll be needing to upgrade to eBook Library in order to talk to your 505.

Thanks Jon. I should have been clear. I already have the 'eBook Library' software. I did transfer over my original classics purchases back in February, but they don't show up differently.

Interesting. I added a new book today via the Sony eBook Library software and when I disconnected and looked at Books by Date, ALL of the books now show in their correct date headings. Huh! I guess the software must be doing something internally. Maybe we could figure this out and get it put into calibre?

I get this when the Reader's date is re-set back to the distant past, making all the book dates (filesystem timestamps) in the far future and thus "Today." If you go to the Reader's settings and set the correct time, then USB plug-in & un-plug the Reader, the "by date" list should become correct.

Unfortunately, calibre only talks to the 505 as a USB storage device. The SONY software probably does something extra (like it used to for the 500) to set the time.

I have the same problem. Every time I plug my 505 into my PC to charge it or use Calibre the date gets reset. I am in Europe so I am wondering if it could be a US Date vs European Date formatting problem?
