ebook-convert for linux
I need a binary version of calibre ebook-convert that will run on redhat linux 5.3 which has python 2.4.3. I really can't change the other software installed on the server. Is there any hope? How do I get the one binary w/o doing a complete install. Can I install on a development machine and then just move ebook-convert to a production server?

convert .ODT 2 EPUB
Hi,
I would like to convert .odt (or .rtf, .doc...) to .epub. But, in my calibre, in the convert section, I just have: input format EPUB; output format many others. Why do I don' t have all the supported format that I've read on the user guide? Do I have to install the plugin to convert this kind of file? If yes, which is the name of plugin? and where do I can find it? TIA Renato |

What files do I need for just ebook-convert? Is it just a few files or is it the hole enchilada? I was wondering if I could do a similar thing in windows there are a large number of dll's so there it would seem that the best solution is to install all of calibre just to get epub-convert. In windows I noticed that the bug of running ebook-convert is still present in your latest release. You can run ebook-convert multiple times form a batch file. If you want run the batch file again or any other batch file then you have to bring up a new command window. ebook-convert is wonderful for publishers who want to set automated work flow. Regards, Bill |
