Often there will be an option on the page to request that Amazon and the publisher consider providing a Kindle edition. This doesn't appear to be available for Marianne Curley's books, so I suggest you send Amazon an email via the Contact Us button, requesting a Kindle version of the books.

Right under the book cover graphic for each of those books at Amazon.com, there is a link that says:
Tell the Publisher! I’d like to read this book on Kindle For all three books that you mentioned, the publisher is Bloomsbury USA Children's Books. You can visit Marianne Curley's page on their website and contact the publisher directly from there. The publisher will need to provide the ebook for sale at Amazon. It looks like they have released only in paperback and hardback at this point. |

You can contact the publisher directly through their website. I posted the link to that in my earlier reply. |

This is one of those fact issue, geeze I though amazon had everything, I'm shocked to find out there is something they don't have. Does Amazon have a policy that states when they remove a book from their database and when they enter a new book in their databases?

It's amazing that an author will sell a physical book on Amazon without offering a Kindle alternative. Publishing a book on Kindle is so easy. Why shun such a huge market if they don't have to?

I have sent email to Amazon, they replied me asking to talk to publishers directly. So, I have mailed the published. Let's see.

could be that amazon set greedy commission levels for on-selling the kindle versions, and that eats into publisher profits - or could just be that they dont forsee enough sales to justify getting the physical book converted to mobi.

Who knows? I just can't see that it would cost the publisher much to convert to an ebook, given that everything is already available in electronic form nowadays.

dunno if amazon expect publishers to do their own conversions to Kindle of if they offer a conversion service. I do know that an awful lot of books are STILL not available in Kindle format. could also be that some authors refuse to go the e-route, just like the Beatles refused to let heir music go digital - for fear of lost physical format sales. It's not hard to find e.g. a pirated Harry Potter e book, but someone ( maybe Rowling, maybe her agent or publisher ) clearly things there's more money to be made by NOT allowing e-book versions - go figure. |

Ms Rowling has made clear the Harry Potter series is for children and children normally don't own ereaders and this is why there are no ebooks. For me this means the contrary to your suggestions: she is not greedy and does not make more millions by selling ebook versions of her childrens story to grown ups.

that is such feeble - non-excuse. by that logic - children can't own credit cards so amazon should not sell the paper versions ???? in fact children are usually their first to get their hands on every new gadget, and as children CAN have library cards & DO use computers they could borrow the e-versions online if..... she's actually being very stupid here - refuse to provide a legal e-version & folks will just circulate unauthorised copies made from scans - & then will never buy the legal ones when she finally changes her mind. She said that when she thinks of reading a book she imagines a paper product with a specific look, feel and smell. For that reason, she wouldn't allow them to be sold electronically. Although last week she said that she's reconsidering that stance (there are lots of news articles if you search) and some people have estimated the ebook rights to the Harry Potter series could be worth $100 million. |
