HA! Do I have your attention?

How do you hang your toilet paper roll? Does the paper feed from underneath, or over the top?

I"m strictly a "from underneath" myself. This is not a multiple choice, nor will anyone know who voted how, because I definitely don't want to know the answer to the last question!

What an interesting poll!

Well, for your information, I changed my toilet paper lifestyle some years ago. I was a strictly "from underneath" person, now I can't stand it if it's not "over the top". Still haven't found what triggered that fundamental change in me though...

It's actually easier to tear off the roll when it's underneath.

Oh, grandma, I am so happy you asked. Actually, there is only one correct answer if, by correct, you're looking for the most logical one. To obtain TP (but this also applies to rolled paper towel dispensers) in the desired length (meaning only that which is not currently rolled up), you should install the roll so the paper feeds from the top. If you don't believe me, try it yourself both ways and yank it one-handed with a bit of a sideways motion and see what happens. If you install the roll upside down so that it feeds from the bottom, you're likely to get a few thousand feet of paper unrolling from the roll. If you install it correctly, you will get only what is not currently rolled up.

From underneath - thereby pulling the support rod back down the groove into which it slides; a top feed causes the roll to 'walk' up the groove and then perform a kamikaze dive into the pan. Whilst this *is* the ultimate destination of the roll, I prefer an instalment plan approach!

The Sears Catalog doesn't fit on a roll......Red

(Actually Red has moved on with the times. Since there's no longer a Sears catalog, he uses last year's Yellowpages instead.....)
