Formatting the 600

I've had my 600 since the fall and have played extensively.
Now that I have an idea of what I like/don't like, I'd like a re-do and start fresh with an empty disk ..... But I just want to reformat the disk .... not take out the programming.

Is this the way? Anyone tried this?

From the "User’s Guide 4-153-621-12(1) Digital Book Reader"
Advanced Settings - Format Memory Pg 149
Description
Format Memory Formats the internal memory of the
Reader or memory card. Formatting will
erase all the contents.
“Internal Memory”: Formats the internal
memory.
“Memory Stick”: Formats the “Memory
Stick Duo” memory card.
“SD Card”: Formats the SD memory card.
Note
 Before formatting, make sure to transfer data
that you do not want to lose to your
computer or other device.

You can't format firmware if that's what you're talking about in regards to "programming".
You'll just lose anything that you've put on there and probably any changes you've made (folders, etc) After formatting your reader will be exactly the same as when it came from the factory.
