Iliad Fansite

Hi all,
Have just bought a domain for my new Iliad fansite irexiliad.com. Have not set anything up yet, and I would like some input from you guys with regard to content.

This is just a pet project so nothing is going to happen too fast, but just give me you ideas anyway.

first aof all, the chosen name is not very wise. If irex wants it, then you probably are in violation of some copyright law

But if they are nice, than it should be a nice show off center, where can find many pictures and hacks for the new toy.

Oh, yeah, and put up a How-To for cahnging the dsplay to an LCD

I am of course going to ask for Irex' blessing before launching anything. If they do not like the idea then I have only lost 5$ no biggie.

Not really. Copyright law doesn't apply, because the expression is too short to be copyrightable. You were perhaps thinking of trademark law, which may apply, assuming 1) Irex has trademarked the name Irex and/or Iliad in the jurisdiction that Pitchfork runs the site from or aims the site at, and 2) Pitchfork clearly uses the name to make money with, or tries to confuse visitors into thinking that his is an actual Irex site.

Having said that, the bigger danger is ICANN/Verisign/whoever, who are all a bunch of #@!**#!s, and who will take your domain name in a New York second if lawyers can convince them that big business is being "hurt".
