Welcome aboard. I hope you enjoy your reader, whichever one you choose.
I don't know whether those "headaches" are literal or figurative. If the former, then using a device with an e-ink display may help. They're much easier on the eyes than back-lit displays. |

Welcome to MR!
Relegate your netbook to reading the forums and buy a nice eInk device for reading ![]() Last edited by ShortNCuddlyAm; 01-11-2010 at 10:47 AM. |

Welcome to MobileRead, begenot.
Until you get your device, have your tried lowering the contrast on your netbook? Enjoy the forums. |

What Desertgrandma said, and also reduce the width of your lines of text to 2/3 or 1/2 of the screen. It is hard on the eyes to track all the way across and back for hours on end.
Oh, and welcome! |

Thanks for the warm welcome!
I am using Acer One to read (in bed), the headaches and eye tiredness are literal. Perhaps the reason is the glossy screen? I have a friend with Asus EEE and he says he doesn't have any problems reading for a prolonged time on his 1000series. Maybe his eyes are younger who knows.. I've been eying Sony PRS-505 for a while, but recently Jetbook caught my eye(there I go with the eyes again ![]() Question is, will the reflective TFT screen it uses actually offer any improvement compared to a netbook screen? |
