Adobe DE Doesn't Format Right

I just had my PRS-500 returned the other day with the new Epub upgrade. I downloaded my first Adobe Digital Edition novel. This format was much cheaper ($7) vs. the Sony store ($18) for the same title.

The issue I have is that the book doesn't seem formatted correctly. It is readable but the text appears lighter and the paragraph and line formatting seems jumbled a bit.

Can this be corrected or do I just have to tolerate it because this is what an Adobe Digital Edition normally looks like on the PRS-500?

Is it ePub or PDF?

It just says Adobe Digital Additions. It LOOKS like a PDF, but it not tagged as one. I purchased it from Powell's Books.

This is normal for a PDF. The reflowing is one page at a time, so at a minimum you get partially blank screens every so often (at the end of a physical page). Sometimes removing line breaks does not work, and paragraph detection can be hit and miss.

When there is a choice, buy Adobe ePub instead. This is what you get from the Sony store. In general, an ebook sold as "Adobe Digital Editions" will likely be PDF.

A big Snoopy, "Blllaaahhhh!" I normally buy it all from the Sony store, but they had a book priced at $18 while the Adobe store had it at $7. I'm going to try and reformat it myself using some tools I have. Maybe I'll get lucky.

You could always remove the DRM from the PDF then use a formatting tool to remove the margins from the PDF. I've had decent results using soPDF.
