Hello All

Afternoon, (or morning/evening depending on your time zone!)

Only just considered an e-book and really haven't got a clue as to which one.

I'm an avid reader of fictional books and drive the missus mad by not letting any of them go to the charity shops. Well, 2nd or 3rd reads are always a possibility!

I travel a lot, therefore carrying books around is always a bit of a pain. But I now see added features such as newspapers etc........the choice is never simple, is it!

Anyway, no doubt this will be like another forum I've joined, that offers so much helpful advice and knowledge, that I'll be forever 'upgrading' to get the best I can, (the other forum was for audio visual equipment).

All the best,
Neil.

Hi Neil and welcome to MobileRead. Portability was one of the things that sold me on eBook readers in the first place. We're on vacation in Rio at the moment and I'm reading the Steven King novel, Under the Dome which, in hardback, is about four inches thick and weighs several pounds. But on my Sony, it is VERY light!

Welcome Neil!

I too want to keep every book I read, and I had started to have serious storage problems at home. After I got my first ebook reader, I never looked back.

Good luck with your choice! I'm sure that whichever device you choose, you will be one very happy reader!

Thanks omk3,

My missus will be happy to hear she maybe able to get rid of some books........but then will not be impressed with the cost of the 'new book' when I choose one!

Happy days.

Cheers,
Neil.

You can tell her how much money you'll save by reading all those great ebooks that are available for free or for a very low price: public domain books, self-published books, sometimes even best-sellers are on great offers. (Check the e-book uploads and the deals, freebies and resources section.) At least that was my argument when I wanted to purchase my first reader.

Hi Neil, welcome to MobileRead - I'm very tempted to get the prs 900 as a second reader. Check out the free books on this very site when you get a chance, there are lot of public domain books here to download.

I'll do my best, (she's heard it all before!)

Cheers,
Neil.

I will indeed, more than I thought there would be.

Thanks for the greeting and all the best,
Neil.
