version 0.6.31 better device recognition and a question
Kovid,
perhaps you will find this interesting: I've a PAPYRE 6.1 that has been running all sorts of firmware (different OEM's "official" versions, LBOOK, BUGGINS, TIRWAL's) and prior to version 0.6.31 it was detected by CALIBRE as "Bebook"; which was funny because no BeBook software has been ever used. Now it is detected (more properly, I think) as "HANLINV3" You are getting it closer and closer, upgrading pays. And I issue I would like to check with you before opening a ticket: I would like to have my ebbok files saved as: {author_sort}/{series} {series_index}-{title}/{title} - {authors} I change by hand the "author_sort" from: "Goyal, Kovid" to "GOYAL Kovid" So if the book has no series, it should be something like: "GOYAL Kovid/The Book Name/The Book Name - Kovid Goyal.ePub" and with series: "GOYAL Kovid/SERIESNAME 3-The Book Name/The Book Name - Kovid Goyal.ePub" Well, no matter what I do books are always saved as: {authors}/{title}/{title} - {authors} Am I doing something wrong or missing something? It seems as if CALIBRE has a default filename routine and nothing can change it. |

the save template setting is for the save to disk action not the way calbre saves books in its library.

I know. Sorry if I made you wrong. It is precisely what I am talking about.
It saves it in the disk and in the device with no regard of my template. I've just uploaded a book to the device and its path is: "S:\Bill Bryson\A Short History of Nearly Everything\A Short History of Nearly Ev erything - Bill Bryson_72.epub" instead of: "S:\BRYSON Bill\A Short History of Nearly Everything\A Short History of Nearly Ev erything - Bill Bryson_72.epub" The book has no series Last edited by LARdT; 12-30-2009 at 09:41 PM. |

the save to disk template does not affect the send to device operation either, only the "save to disk" operation.

Now I see what you mean.
I think it is not very "coherent". If you agree with me that: - the feature will give much more added value if allows the user to configure how to organize its e-book collection in the most flexible way, not only in "calibre" way (which by itself its quite reasonable). I didn't understood it well because I use an open source program for MP3 management called MusicBrainz Picard, which is the most comprehensive tool and it is a sort of "musical Calibre": it allows to "convert", associate with external metadata (covers, etc..) and to organize your collection. In fact, is very simillar in concept. And MusicBrain not only allows that kind of configuration but also has functions to format the output organization on disk. If you think it could be a useful feature I wiil elaborate on it in a ticket. Thanks |
