Hello Everyone,

I also received a Sony Touch Reader PRS 600 for Christmas. I have been playing with it all evening. I think that I am going to enjoy it. I love the dictionary. Its one of the reasons that I decided on the Sony. I am able to download and transfer some of the ebooks that our local library has. I can transfer the Adobe PDF books and the Adobe EPUB from Adobe Digital Editions but can't read the EPUB books. I am sure I will find out why. Meanwhile there plenty of PDF books to read. Looking forward to reading the forums. It is snowing and really blowing out tonight and I would rather be somewhere warm. Jane O

Hi MJaneO and welcome to MobileRead. Enjoy your new toy. I've had a Sony 505 since Jan 08 and really like it.

And come on down to South America! We're on vacation in Buenos Aires and off to Rio this afternoon and it is WARM and sunny.

Welcome to MobileRead MJaneO.

There is currently a conflict of having both PDF and ePub library books on your reader at the same time. Overdrive and Sony are aware of the problem and should be working on a solution.

The only solution for now, is to delete all the library borrowed PDF's on your reader before loading any ePubs. A copy of your borrowed ebooks will still be on your computer (unless they are overdue), so they can be copied back to your reader any time before they expire.

One solution is to read all the PDF's on your reader first, then delete them or return them, then copy all your ePubs to your reader and read them. Another work-a-round would be to only copy one library book at a time to your reader, then delete it before copying a library book of a different format to your reader.

Does that make any sense?

Welcome Jane! And here I was wishing I was back in Canada for Christmas (even though my Christmas was a warmish weather one) and the New Year... well, I'll be back there soon enough. I'm glad to see you like your new reader, I don't leave mine alone for a second, my husband is starting to get jealous! Make sure to download lots of free public domain books from our site (the link is at the top of the page under ebooks) while you're here!
