TV Channel Lineup

Hey everyone, thanks for the excellent, informative forums (fora?). I'm looking for the best way to download local TV channel lineups. Has anybody had any luck?

Thanks!

I use Pocket TV Browser at
http://www.pimcity.com/ptvbrowser/overview.htm
It's a virtual steal at only $10.00. You get TV listings set to whatever channels you like-- automatically updating and loading to your Install folder. It is very well put together, there's a forum and the developer is amazingly responsive.
There's even an iSilo-friendly help link
http://www.pimcity.com/ptvbrowser/help/index.html
Check it out.

Unfortunately, the Pocket TV Browser is not Mac-compatible.

I meant to post more, but didn't have time... I've been experimenting with several different links. Here's one that works, even tho it's meant more for wireless:

http://wireless.tvguide.com/(1cgfve5550f5rm45qyz04e45)/index.aspx

the bit depth needs to be set pretty high-- I used 5. The other problem is that it only gives the schedule for every second hour.

One that I've been experimenting with:

http://tvlistings2.zap2it.com/zipcod...er_id=national

It's not set up for PDA's, so there's alot of scrolling and setting up cookies.

I've been looking for that too, but I don't think there is anything. There are a few (German-speaking) mobile TV sites though in the WCC.

Thumbs up

For those in the UK, I use the following link (from memory, depth 1).

http://www.guardian.co.uk/TV/0,4658,210644,00.html

It's a bit big, but its very comprehensive covering cable & satellite channels with information about programme content.

Enjoy.

I'm going to play around with some of these listings to try to get one to work.

Any suggestions for listing sites to try would be appreciated.

zpos, unfortunately, I live in the US (fortunate to live in US, not fortunate to be able to use that site). I do find myself watching a lot of UK programs, but most that we get here are only available on BBCAmerica and PBS (public broadcasting).

BTW, visited the UK several yrs back. Loved the place, hated the weather. Though we here in the northeast US are getting a big taste of the weather.

ah, in that case, I can understand your lack of enthusiasm to convert that page!

Yeah, the weather here is unpredictable. If you want to have a bbq, then you should have it right now. No point planning one in, the weather will find out about it and then some dark clouds will get together to ensure that the bbq won't take place.

Apart from that, I guess the UK is OK.
