Hello from Arkansas
I just received this Kindle1 today as a Christmas Present and am excited to find out all the things I can do with it. I thought it was just a reader. I am 69 years young and enjoying learning new things. That is what keeps us young.

Welcome fellow Arkansan! The financial wizard (wife) gave her blessing for a Sony PRS-600 earlier this month, so we're both relative newbies to the e-reader world. Don't go too crazy downloading all the freebie ebooks or you'll drown in them.

In addition to ebooks, my mom enjoys audio books on her kindle, just so you know that it works well with that media too.
