The PRS-300 or 600?
I am really torn between deciding which E-Reader to get after Christmas. I have used both of them in Borders recently and find them both to be excellent. However, the 100$ price difference could really sway me towards the lower model. Although I am really intrigued by the touch screen, the fast interface of the 600, dictionary and being able to use notes. I am not sure if the 100$ is a worthy sacrifice for these features as well as a bigger screen. The PRS-300 is just the standard e-reader, but I hear that I will want to upgrade in the next few months, where if I get the 600, it's guaranteed to last a while.
Any input? Opinions? Experience? ![]() |

I have the 300, and love it. But, the things that the 600 has are things I simple do not need or care about. All I want my reader to do is display my books, so I can reed them. I do not care about mp3's, I have an iPhone and an iPod. I do not care to take notes, or have interest in a touch screen. The dictionary is an interesting option, I have one on my iPhone, but in reality seldom use it. So FOR ME the 300 is perfect. I is very portable, good clear fonts and easy to read, and without the goofy Sony PC software is easy to use (just drag and drop books).
But, I am not you. If the things the 300 lacks that the 600 has are importent to you, then get the 600. It really is that simple. |

That's exactly how I think. I would never upload music onto my reader, nor would I use the dictionary since I don't use it now. I just want something to hold my books that I like and makes them cheaper as well as portable. Sounds like the 300 is for me.

I just got myself my first ereader and went for the 300. Figured the other €100 was better off in my pocket and the extras on the 600 version did not justify spending the extra for me. The only difference between them that I would have been interested in would have been the screen size, but then the smaller overall size of the 300 is a positive as well. Not having a memory card slot is a bit odd, but that's not really much of an issue either considering the size of the books, and can always store them on the PC if I end up having that many books, certainly won't be reading that many at a time.

I have the 600- I'm new to ereaders but..If you have have the extra cash and also don't mind the minor annoyance of glare it does not bother me, I would go for the 600 in noisy enviroments you can listen to some nice backround music I've also been using the dictionary plus the sd card will probably come in handy
