Where else to buy newspapers?

Bought the New York Times from the Reader Store last Sunday at 10 AM EST, to read on an airplane. Opened it up, and it was Saturday's paper. I just spent 20 minutes+ on the phone with someone in India securing a refund for my $.75.

It's not the money issue, but the service and reliability issue. I don't know that anyone there will get the message that they were selling an out of date paper.

Are there other sites to buy the New York Times that will work on my PRS-300?

Have you tried Calibre? I know for a fact it has a NY Times recipe which will download a nice, PRS-300 friendly paper at will, for (right now) free.
