Hi and Help!

Hi everyone.
It appears that someone of you may be able to help me. I just recieved a Kindle global, charged it and tried to light up 3G on whispernet. No go! It would engage a weak EDGE signal that is sluggish and often completely unresponsive. This is especially frustrating because my other units, a Kindle2 and a DX, will dutifully secure a strong 3G signal and allow me to shop or download books quickly. I even tried each unit side-by-side with the same results, the global would not connect with 3G while the others would.

Any of you know, is the global version unable to access 3G by design or is it malfunctioning? When I purchased the global unit ( the US wireless choice was not any longer available) the literature indicated that it would seek the strongest signal, one of those being 3G.

Any knowledgbe, ideas or other thoughts. Thanks for being here.
