Searching for.... in fields help needed
Okay... I finally mastered the search function in calibre EXCEPT... is there a way to search for "blank" fields?
For example if I wanted to search for all books where the comment field was blank... is there a way to do that? |

If you really need to do this for a lot of books, you could try adding a keyword to the comments using SQL and one of the techniques in this thread. Then you'd search for your keyword inside calibre. |

I think I read somewhere that you could use syntax like
fieldtype:false to handle this case. I guess using true instead of false also shows none-empty values. |

Yep, comments:false|true does the trick. Nice one, I didn't know that.

1) syntax is a: comments:false or comments:true Not both and no spaces and no capital letters 2)it seems to be touchy ![]() If I made an error on the command it seems to not fully recover until I restarted Calibre. |

Although it worked for me, and I never had to restart, it did find some tags that had "False" in them when I first tried it, then it found empty tags. I haven't tried it enough to figure out what caused it to switch.
