PRS-300 software question

My son received a prs 300 for Christmas. I have a 505. Is it the same software. In other words, can he use my computer and usb cable - then download books from my computer to his 300.

Does the 300 use the same software as the 505?

Yup, same software. But the question is, did you update the software in the past two weeks? If you haven't, you will need to before you buy any more books from the Sony store.

Also, if you want to share books, the 300 will need to be authorized on the same account as the 505 account. Make sure you update the software if you haven't already, then plug the new 300 in. It should prompt you to authorize it, but if it doesn't, go under My Account, and authorize devices.

Thanks, that is good news. He is also having trouble downloading the softeware - busy servers at Sony I presume. And I have updated the software on the 505 just last week.
