Why I've made no comments on my new Pocket Pro

Actually, the ONLY reason is that it is still in its box at my sister's house in Arkansas, and I'm still in Peru.

I'll be visiting the U.S. during the Christmas Holidays (Dec. 23). I'll charge that sucker and post my report.

Until then....

Cheers,
Don

I'll never be happy until I catch up with you, Harry!

(Seriously, I may sell my three REB 1100s [only one is working]; the PDF Blackmask set of 5 or 6 Cds; plus the REB Blackmask set of 5 or 6 CDs; the 3 [or 4?] 64 meg cards; and that card reader I purchased. And also the international Radio Shack charger.)

(Also, I'm thinking about selling my jetBook.)

While there, I'm definitely going to buy a Sony 300 or 600. I'm also seriously contemplating an additional Kindle 2 and/or possibily a Kindle DX.

No, why do you need to have so many units?, many of which use the same screen technology. Wouldn't it be more sensible to have different units that used a different screen technology/version?

Now I understand.

I actually love e-ink technology.

The two main units in my arsenal include the Kindle 2 and the Sony.

I read serious Literature by literary authors, and Amazon has the majority of works to choose from.

I have my Sony because it was the first unit I actually bought that used e-ink. I also love the Sony, especially its ergonomics. I read a lot of genre fiction on this unit.

My first real ebook reader I bought was the REB 1100 - a great unit for its time. I remember being excited as I counted the minutes downloading the latest Stephen King novel on it.

What can I say? I'm a techno-geek (without acne). I think microwaves were invented to cook cats [humor!], grandmothers to beat on the head with brooms and spare spatulas (I love alliteration.) I also like the Three Stooges and Federico Fellini, comedy and life from Jerry Lewis to Roberto Benigni. I like to challenge the status quo - getting boring people to look at the sky, instead of their scuffed shoes. Give me a zombie and give me guts, but also give me Louis Celine and Henry James. I think a lot of hot wind comes from Derrida and Foucault, and from people who live to quote these two - their god-invoked mantra - and, God help me! I was once the guilty. I want to tear down the smug Ivory Towers of Torrential Rhetoric, to reveal to the world the [Jack "Vance-ian"] magical purple gemstone that allows them to see mythic splendor for the actual reality of the rotted shacks that line their limited field of vision. Long live Imagination, Freedom, and the ebook Reader!

Don, I'm with you on this. I'd have one of everything available in the ebook reader line if I could afford it. I too am a "gadget geek".

Well, with luck the paint should have either dried or if you lose the PP lottery it will have already tuned into "granny's thighs" by the time you pick it up.

If I had the money, I'd be doing exactly the same... Only I'd be buying various devices of different sizes

Oh, yes: I'm seriously thinking about the Kindle DX. Also, the Sony 300 for its nice carry-along size.

I'm with you all on the multiple devices. If I could afford it I'd go out and buy a Kindle, Sony and Pocketbook 360.

Obviously I'm way behind as I did not buy my first real ebook reader until this year, but never the less, I've got my share of reading devices (not counting my desktop PC)

Never the Kindle, but an IRex, or that new Que thing... Most certainly a Boox, maybe an Entourage Edge...
