It's official: PRS-505 is more expensive than newer 600
A few weeks ago, they were (apparently) going for as low as $69 on clearance at some Targets.
Now with Christmas shopping in full swing, the lowest price I found was $399.99 shipped, or $100 more than full 2007 MSRP... Some sellers list it for as "low" as $299 or full original MSRP, but they are all out of stock. Mint used ones with no accessories routinely go for $330 or so shipped off eBay for some reason... Meanwhile, all sorts of deals can be found on the 600. By and large, between the two, the 600 is absolutely the market-defined lower price point model, despite being the alleged upgrade. Pretty dynamic evidence that Sony has been de-evolving since the 505... Last edited by Starter; 11-27-2009 at 08:10 PM. |

The 505 is in demand because to date it is the best all around reader,
high demand+low availability = high prices |
