ABBY creating headers

I have scanned a book and am in he process of correcting the mistakes. One thing I have noticed is that although I used a template for the analysis, ABBY has still split the page into 2 blocks for chapter headers. This now means that most of the chapters have become headers when I export to Word.

I have tried to remove the second block and manually make it a single section but everytime I 'read' the page, it splits again.

Is there anyway I can stop this from happening as it means my export is almost useless as the chapter headings are either headers or not there (if I choose not to include headers/footers).

Many thanks,

This occasionally happens to me, although most of the time it comes out fine even if the chapter heading is a separate block (as long as Abbyy knows it's text, and if it doesn't, you can right-click on it and change it to text). My gut feeling is that Word tries to call a separate block a header when it is too close to the top of the page.

In those cases I generally just type the missing chapter heading into the Word file. There are probably more elegant ways, but since on most books it doesn't happen that much, for me it's always been easier to just fix it than to figure out a way to prevent it.

Thanks.

I started to type the chapters into Word but was find that it was taking me forever... There were around 60 chapters.

Instead, I ended up editing the text in ABBY directly which made things a lot quicker for me.
