Getting a warranty replacement, have questions

Im getting a warranty replacement, and wanting to know the best way to move books from the old kindle to the new one. Just copy and paste to a folder on the desktop and then copy and paste into the folder on the new kindle?

Also, how do I keep the same email address? Do I deregister the old one, and then register the new one? Not sure how this works.

Copying and pasting will work with non-DRM books. Books you buy from Amazon will have to be re-downloaded as required from your account on Amazon. You should deregister the old Kindle and the new one should already be registered to you. There should be no effect on your email address.
