Sunrise XP beta 1 released

As always, I'm pleased to announce a new Sunrise XP release.

Only some minor new things in this release:

New: Convert Sunrise SDLs to Sunrise XP SXLs.
New: Import/export document settings to/from OPML files.

To convert your existing Sunrise SDLs, select "File -> Open" from the main menu, choose "Sunrise SDL" as the file type and pick your SDL.

Some SDL settings cannot be converted. Scripting, for instance, has been replaced by link rewriting rules based on regular expressions. I will post updated document settings for sites like BBC News, ESPN and Reuters on the sunrisexp.com site over the next few days.

I think the product is stable enough to be labelled as beta. I'll attempt to fix any bugs that show up, but I won't be able to address every issue. The only feature that will be added during the beta phase is Help documentation.

I hope people are not getting tired of the many releases. This new beta fixes a fairly important issue with regard to how update reports and newsfeeds are saved. In previous releases the files were erroneously stored in the roaming profile directory, while they should have been saved in the local, non-roaming profile directory.

To move any existing settings from previous releases move the directory
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Sunrise XP
to
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Sunrise XP

Changelog:

New: The uninstaller now offers options to delete saved newsfeeds, update reports and application preferences.
New: Distribution is now significantly smaller (shrunk from 930Kb to 820Kb) due to better compression.
Fixed: Update reports and newsfeeds are now saved in the local, non-roaming Application Data directory. (Previously, they were erroneously saved in the roaming Application Data directory.)
Fixed: Updated links and fixed the formatting in the readme.

Personally I like lots of releases, so I'd say keep em coming. And even if I don't install them all, I still get the benefit of knowing I'm installing something that have more of the latest "good stuff" in it.
