Hello to all of y'all from the Pineywoods of East Texas.

I am a new ebook reader as of now. I bought a PRS300 Friday at Fry's and I love it so far. I downloaded the user manual so that I can see what the ebook can do. I am looking for tips on how to use the sony ebook reader so anything anyone can offer would help.

I am a huge James Patterson, John Grisham, James Rollins, WEB Griffin reader. I have not downloaded any content because I have enough to read in hardback now. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Welcome to MobileRead. You'll find tons of free books and lots of great advice here.

My first suggestion would be to download and use calibre instead of the Sony software. It was created by MR member kovidgoyal. I especially like the "Fetch news" feature. I read the newspaper every day on my PRS-505.

How can you stand to wait to start using your 300?

Hi corki2953 and welcome to MobileRead. I've had a Sony 505 since Jan 08 and really like it. In fact, I actually bought the eBook version of a paperback I was in the process of reading because I was so excited to try out the 505. And I haven't looked back!

I'd recommend buying all your favourite books as ebooks, especially if the books are falling apart (but that might just be bcause that's what I did )
