Please, i need some help with my Kindle 2.
Hello everyone,
I'm from Brazil and i just bought a Kindle 2. I loveto ready pocket books but it isn't easy to find a good amount of them here in my country. So, i decided to buy one e-reader. I was so happy when it did arrive... but as soon as i entered amazon's store i saw that i couldn't use my internation credit card to buy any kindle book. I don't know what to do... So, i would like to ask you if is there any other store where i could buy ebooks to read using the kindle 2. Please, please... Thank you everyone. Juliana Tristine |

There are sites which have books in Kindle format that are in the public domain: www.feedbooks.com
I just downloaded their "Kindle Download Guide" last night and got some public domain books for free: - The Arabian Nights - Hamlet - Strange Case of Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde - Don Quixote - A Tale of Two Cities - Through the Looking Glass - Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - The Count of Monte Cristo - Dracula's Guest That site also has books that are not Public Domain. (free) But they won't have the selection that Amazon has. I hate to say it, since I love my Kindle 2, but you should sell it and get an eBook reader that is more friendly internationally. Like a Sony or something. Sell it to someone in the USA if you can, so they don't run into the same troubles. Otherwise, your selection is going to suffer. I did read somewhere about a Japanese guy who bought a Kindle 2 and went to the trouble of opening a bank account in US funds so that he could shop at Amazon. Is that an option for you? If so, and if you're willing to do it, that might be your best route. |

Hi Juliana, welcome to MobileRead!
There are quite a few MobileRead members outside the U.S. who are successfully purchasing content from Amazon (look for posts by Mike L). If you follow this link, you'll find instructions on how to set up your Amazon accounts (you will need 2), so that you can purchase Kindle books. Good luck and feel free to post in the Kindle forum if you have any other questions. ![]() |
