Ez Reader Font Sizes

I just got my ez reader and I love it, but I have a lot of lit and html files that the font is just too small on. I updated the firmware thinking that it would do the trick, but I'm sad to say it didn't. Is anyone having this issue or am I missing something? Oh yeah how do you switch fonts without the hassle of going back to the main menu?

Press 8 (the zoom function) to increase the size of the fonts.

I've done that, but the font's don't go larger and in most cases stay the same. The only real difference I see is when the orientation changes, but then things aren't formatted right and really it's just hard for me to read. Maybe I'm doing this wrong, but 8 only changes font's 3 ways and for me the font size is not big enough.

I this meant this earlier about an easy way to switch fonts without going back to the main menu: Types of fonts and not font sizes.

The range of font sizes is limited on the EZ Readers. The largest sizes are for FB2 and for ePub. Even these are not very large. For the other formats, you might try a very heavy font like Arial Black since this can make a big difference.

Other EInk readers provide larger font sizes. An Astak Mentor has 8 sizes, but I don't know how big its largest size is. The Bookeen Cybook and Opus have 12 sizes.

Oh ok...how would I install Arial black and I thought the new fonts would only apply to the files that were word files or txt files.

See How do I add additional fonts. Fonts are typically in C:\WINDOWS\Fonts on a Windows PC. However, it looks like Arial Black is an OpenType font (which won't work). An alternative is the Bold version of DejaVu Sans, see DejaVu-fonts download. You can try the bold version of any TrueType font that provides an explicit bold font.

Selecting your own font does not change the font in all formats, but it is more than just TXT and DOC (e.g. also HTML). Some user fonts are available for FB2, and these are in a menu once you open a FB2 file.

Thanks for your help and yes Deja Vu font works well with my files. I'm glad now I can read my e-books.

Hit the Menu button (big button on bottom right), and a option list is opened, including one to change font.
