Ebook Creation - Tools & Process

A step by step process to create ebooks in both EPUB and Kindle formats that will be acceptable for publishing. The process or workflow uses Microsoft Word and two free programs, Sigil and Kindle Previewer. Whether publishing a novel or creating reference documents for your own use, the steps are the same:
1) Write your document in Microsoft Word using styles that you create. Use Word to generate a Table of Contents, End notes, and Bibliography. Save the document as an html file.
2) Use Sigil to organize and edit the html file and create an ebook in the EPUB format.
3) Use Amazon’s Kindle Previewer to convert the EPUB ebook to a Kindle ebook.

Given that you appear to only have a K3, how much coverage is there in your book of the specific issues relating to KF8 files on the different models of Kindle? You do cover KF8, I hope? It is, perhaps, a more important format than Mobi these days.

There is not much coverage of KF8 files in the book. Since there is such a large install base of "non-KF8" Kindles, I wanted to present a process that would create an ebook usable on all models.

Sounds like I need to start on the update already!

I am going to update the book now that the K3 has been updated to support the KF8 format.
First I need to do some testing to see how the various formatting will look.
