Ok, I have a few questions:

My impression is that Calibre is basically a computer software that does nothing to the actual device but rather is a computer based management tool for your library. Is that correct?

Second, what are the disadvantages of using this instead of the sony software for my PRS-600?

Thanks
FR

Yes, it doesn't do anything to the device. Well other than allow you to transfer books to it.

Some folks prefer it to the Sony software. The only real disadvantage I can think of is that with LRF/LRX Calibre won't pre-paginate the book so it's done by the device the first time you open it and the first time you go to a different font size the first time.

thanks. I may try it out because the meta data stuff is driving me nuts on pdf and it seems to have some good software for that.
