When will we see a flexible 6"?
Hi
I'd like to have a 6" e-ink for daily lecture. But also I want to throw it into my bag without thinking of breaking the screen. When will the flexible screens appear? Thanks Gogolo |

To answer your question, I think it will happen within the next 5 years, or so.
But, in reality, I haven't a clue. |

Flexible screens are due to start manufacture late this year, so we should see devices using them early 2010.

Thanks! Ill be patient and wait for beginning 2010. But considering the history of e-ink, Ill have a long beard until then.

plastic logic had a flexible screen, but decided to change it and make it rigid, responding to user input who didn't like the flexible screens.

Also you might be confusing Plastic Logic with Polymer Vision. The latter did have a fully assembled prototype with a roll out screen. They changed this to a series of hinged plates to give the screen a more rigid backing, IIRC because of user input. |

Sorry, I denoted it badly. What Im looking for is the absence of glas substrate in the devices. Like my Motorola F4 - you could let a truck roll over it....:-)

Yes, that's what the plastic substrate screen we should get late this year or early next will give you - not "truck-proof", but certainly "knock-proof".
