html to epub problem

I don't know what's wrong with the html file I'm converting. I already set the encoding to UTF8. If I convert it to other formats then convert it to epub, it still says the same thing - UnicodeDecodeError: 'utf8' codec can't decode byte... I'll attach the file I'm trying to convert and the error that pops up.

Help in converting would be very much appreciated. thanks!

It worked for me, what version of calibre are you using?

I'm running version 0.6.6 on windows xp.

I've been trying to convert this book to epub ever since version 0.6.3 I think, hoping the newer versions would do it for me but none of them did.

To invent a workaround, I converted the said HTML(zipped) file to lit and it was successful. I then converted this lit file to epub but then the same error appeared. I also converted the file to PDF using another program but then when I converted it to epub using calibre, the images in the book were not included.

How did it work for you? Did you do an added step? Because usually I just choose convert then click ok, trusting the preferences that I have set...

Thanks for taking the time to answer and great job on the program! So far, this is the only book that i've had a problem with.

I just converted it with default preferences to EPUB. One thing you can try is open the HTML file in Word and re save it this time using (save as filtered HTML). The HTML in that file has a lot of junk that Word inserts when you just save it as HTML
