Trying to find a book from the past...

Hey everybody,

Looking for a book I read in the 70's (!!!) that's probably just pulp, but of which I can still remember the plot quite vividly. Unfortunately, that's about all! It's sci-fi / horror, and deals with a human manufactured plague that wipes out the immune system of the affected. The interesting thing is it wasn't a biological vector: It was induced by electro-magnetic radiation of some sort. The interesting observation made by one of the characters in the book is that all victims live or were present in a large elliptical area within the city (hence the tight electromagnetic "cone" of radiation emanating from a transmission tower, etc.). I don't remember how the book ends, but the investigative portion of the book with the aforementioned discovery tweaked my geek. Anybody who might have stumbled through this tome and remembers the name, I'd appreciate it if you could share the title! Thanks!

Steve -- the description doesn't ring a bell for me. Since I read a lot of SF, I was hoping I could help you. Perhaps some others around here will recognize the book you're remembering.

I don't recall it. Has to be biological, it's just the trigger is electro-magnetic right? You might take a look through this page and see if any of the titles spark a memory. http://www.sff.net/people/asinclair/medscifi.html

Don't remember it, but have you checked out this week's Eureka on the Syfy channel -- it sounds like a related plot line.
