Hello All

I am planning on getting a Kindle DX. I am new to this forum.
My name is Marvin Weinstein, I am a theoretical physicist at the SLAC Linear Accelerator Center.

Hello niv and welcome to MobileRead.

I'm theorizing that niv is the first three letters of Marvin spelled backwards.

Your the first theoretical physicist I've ever made contact with.

Hope you enjoy your Kindle DX. Ask away with any questions and someone in the know should be around to answer them.

Hi Marvin and welcome to MobileRead. As a theoretical physicist, you'll be pleased to know that I'm in the middle of 'A Briefer History of Time' by Steven Hawkings. Like a lot of members here, I do enjoy science and technology non-fiction.

Be sure and let us know when you get your DX

Don't worry I plan on doing it when the Kindle arrives. I have been checking out the stuff on getting mobipocket books from fictionwise to load on a Kindle. Do you know if Igor's stuff works on a DX?

It is Hawking (no s). I congratulate you on reading it. I find it impenetrable ;^) I don't really think it is very clear, but it is a great coffee table book. Don't hesitate to ask questions, I do know this stuff. I will try dropping in from time to time.

HI Deb,

The DX is great! I love the form factor, it is just the right size for me.
It is nice to have a piece of technology that does just what I wanted and nothing more. I just came back from a trip to Brazil/Peru and the DX, loaded with books, made traveling and reading much simpler. I was able to carry along pdf's of the papers I wanted to read too.
