Hi all. My stepson wants an ebook reader for christmas. I think he wants the sony prs-700 but i have'nt read very many good reviews on itand its out of my price range. I recently saw a ebookwise 1150 and it had very good reviews and more in my price range. Wondering if anybody knows more about these or are they outdated?

I've not used an ebookwise 1150, but those who have seem to really like it. The Sony 505 is also a nice device - because it doesn't have the touchscreen or side lights the 700 does, it apparently has a better display (not seen a 700, just going on teh comments here. I have a 505 which is fine to read on

)

How old is your stepson? It is sturdier, less fragile, than the e-ink readers.

I think the EBW1150 is terrific! Go to www.ebookwise.com and look at the ebook selections. If it has books that you think he will enjoy, then I think you are making a good decision.

I have both a Sony 700 and an ebw1150 and love them both. Either one would be a great gift, but you might want to check out the E-book Reader Matrix to compair other readers on the market. Also, there has been a lot of discussion of two potential new readers from Sony. You can find information about them Here. Good luck and don't be shy about asking questions.
