Hello - I am new to this Forum. I look forward to the conversation.
My Kindle 2 has slowed down to a snail's pace - this started happening during underlining activity. Now the cursor and page turning take seemingly forever. Where should I phone to get answers or a replacement (still under one year warranty.) Also, my attempts to connect to my PC are getting the AZW message - I know many, many others have successfully connected (Windows XP Professional) and that I am probably missing something very basic. Any advice? Thank you. gd |

Hello meyergd.
I have a Sony so I can't help you with Kindle problems, but someone knowledgable will be along shortly to help you. |

Hi meyergd,
Welcome! I'd recommend posting your questions about the Kindle 2 in the Kindle section of the forums -- there are certain to be able to help you out. I've not noticed a problem with my Kindle 1 slowing down, so it may be something worth finding out about. I'm not sure what you mean by the "AZW message"; could you explain a bit more. Certainly I've no problems connecting the Kindle 1 to either Windows XP or Vista. |

Hello Meyergd -- and welcome to MobileRead. I regularly read on my Kindle1 and enjoy it very much. I've had no trouble connecting it to my Windows XP system(s). It may be that your "My Clippings" file has gotten too large with all the high-lighting. (Each high-lighted passage is copied into the clippings file.) If you can get the Kindle to connect to a computer, you can copy off the clippings file and then delete it from the Kindle. A brand new clippings file will be created the next time you add a highlight.
Also, since the highlights are stored in sidefiles for each book, you'll want to make sure that there is *some* free space available in the Kindle storage. |
