Help with Adobe
have just got a PRS-700BC from the states ( Live in UK ) and first up the elibrary 2.5 will not install ( i already have 2.2 as my partner uses a 505 ) . 2.2 seems to see the reader fine though . My main problem is when I try to transfer books that have been purchased Adobe Digital Editions will not see my reader ( the 700 ) to authorise it . Can anyone help , I have contacted Adobe and they suggested a hard reset which I have done but still no success with Adobe seeing the 700 please help as I want to be able to use the reader for more than a paperweight .

Welcome to MobileRead, surfingtroll!
Have you done a search on the MR to see if anyone else has had a similar problem? I haven't used Adobe with my 700 so can give you any advice. I know that another new member recently had issues with ADE files and was able to get help. We have a dedicated 700 forum here that might have the answers. If you don't get any responses here, post your question in the forum again and I know you will get help. Good luck. Happy reading. |

Sorry, I'm not going to be able to help with your questions. If you don't get answers here in "Introduce Yourself", try posting in a more device-specific or technical forum, maybe
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=100 or https://www.mobileread.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=110 |

Hey Surfing Troll, I have a seperate Adobe library program. I down load books to it. This library recognizes my Sony just like the e library and then I down load from the Adobe. Go to the Adobe site. They have the down load and a library you can down load from. Don't know if it helps.

Hi Surfing Troll.
My brother's got the 700, too. He uses Calibre (calibre.kovidgoyal.net) for administration of the reader library. Works fine. BTW: We have thousands of fine fine books here on MobileRead that you can put on your reader directly without having to use any library software (try LRF formta if you prefer justified text). Just drag and drop. Same goes for the books on www.manybooks.net, www.feedbooks.com, www.webscriptions.net. On www.fictionwise.com, you also have tons of books available in multiformats that do not use any DRM and can be handled via direct download, too. There should be around 50.000 books or so available this way, so you might have grown one grey hair or two already when you're done ![]() If you're more of a romance reader try www.allromance.com. All their books don't have DRM and can be put on the 700 directly! Last edited by mtravellerh; 07-20-2009 at 08:32 AM. |
