After lurking for a while, I finally decided to start posting here.

I'm Bjorn, 26, from the Netherlands. My day job is as a journalist for a local radio/TV news station. I'm very much into new media and technology. You name it, I have one. iPods, PDA's, I have several laptops, UMPC's, Apple TV, DTV, PS3, PSP, 360 and every other gadget you can think of.

As for hobbies, I enjoy gaming, photography and I collect watches. Oh I'm also a huge SciFi junkie.

As for digital reading, I started out waaaaay back when on a Palm Pilot Professional. The very first book I read was Wells' War of the Worlds. Imagine reading that on a peasoup screen! I progressed through different Palms, WinCE, Pocket PC, and I currently read on a Cybook Gen 3.

I mostly use it to read SciFi books. But it also comes in handy for web comics and watch manuals.

I'm currently waiting for the Cybook Opus to become available. As an addition - perhaps even replacement - to the G3.

Funky watches! But my favourite is the Casio Databank - you can get so much more functionality with a digital than you can with an analogue.

I don't know why people stick with the old "big hand, little hand" ones.

) Your collection reminds me of the pile in my jewelery box. I have my "Brownie" watch from when I was 8 years old, Mickey Mouse, and so forth... I just seem to have started a collection 47 yrs ago without even knowing it.

Glad you came out of lurk mode and decided to join in the fun...

Haha, yeah -- no matter how many watches I own, there's still something special about that geeky Casio databank

They actually still make new ones like that! Unchanged since the 80's. They even have the little light bulb instead of an illuminator.

I pretty much collect everything these days. I have modern watches, vintage watches. Quartz, solar, handwound, automatic. And everything from a $10 Casio to a $2000 Omega Seamaster.

I wear everything with equal joy. Most watch collectors think I'm slightly nuts though, considering my.... exotic taste in colors and designs. But, as I'd like to say, everyone can buy a Rolex -- but it takes a real hardcore collector to wear something like this:

Hi Bjorn and welcome to this amazing site of everything you ever wanted to know and more..and I have over 150 swatches still with there original boxes. alot are now discontinued and I was thinking of selling them on ebay one day and then changing my mind but they are interesting..some how I got interested in them years ago along with my passion of umbrellas--go figure. enjoy your new reader

My question is--does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care? [..about time...] If so, I can't imagine why, [...oh, no...] as long as there's time enough to cry....
