We all love to read.

I just got the PTS-700 yesterday.

just tried mp3 player last night, then shutdown.
this morning, bring to work to show my co-worker and let it standby.
4-5 hours later, the battery drained out.
MP3 plays in the background

Call chat to customer service, they ask to reset.
I reset and it freezes now.
Batterry needs to be ful charged before check if it is still alive or turn into a brick.

Use to read e-book only to avoid the issue.

hi macarong, and welcome to the forum ! i'm glad you got your mp3 problem sorted, i would have been so worried if it happened to me ! i never use my prs 700 for listening to mp3s, i have other devices which are better suited to that and i don't want to run the batteries down.

take a tour around the forum, you'll find a lot of great information and helpful people here.

don't hesitate to ask questions.

Welcome to MobileRead. Yeah, I don't bother to play MP3s on my Sony reader. In the first place, I don't like to listen to music when I read. And when I'm able to read with my eyes, I don't need to listen to an audio book. I only listen to audio books when I'm alone in my car, so I don't feel any need to carry the MP3s around with me.

Now, other than the MP3s, what do you plan to do with your PRS-700? What type of books do you like to read? Have you checked out any of the books available right here at MobileRead? Many of us are also fond of the DRM-free books from Fictionwise and Baen/Webscriptions. The Baen/Webscription site is almost exclusively Fantasy and Science Fiction, but Fictionwise's "Multi-format" offerings cover every genre.

Welcome to MobileRead, macarong!

I have a 700, too, and love it! I've actually never used the mp-3 player for the same reason as Elsi, I don't like music playing when I'm reading. It's too distracting.

If you have any questions about your reader, check the Sony forums first before you call the company. Many of us have had similar problems and the solutions are documented there. Good luck with your ereading!
