Selfish reasons for winning MobileRead's contest

Hi loungers, you’ve probably all seen Alex’s contest thread (if not: linky). Everyone who wants to participate the drawing has to post a good reason why he/she should win an ereading device. Lots of posters in the contest thread have very generous reasons for winning. I`m wondering if the selfish amoung us don’t dare to post over there. So give us your real selfish reasons why you and only you should win a device. We’ll throw some stones, fish and otters at you and will encourage you to post "over there" when we're done with you

Greenies don't participate, but if I participated, I would like to have a device for reading in the tub only. I know, that's sheer luxury - but, hey, this is the selfish thread!

Or I would use my Cybook for novels and the new one - maybe a red Sony - for educational books only!

Well, and to be honest, I would like to have a second device simply for reasons of having it. I'm an ebook nut, so why not have more than one device?

Your turn now

Purely selfish? Well, maybe I could turn it around and sell it on eBay for fun and profit?

It's a faff having to put mine in a bag every time I want to read in the bath; I shouldn't have to put up with that sort of inconvenience!

Give me a second one so I can keep it permanently bagged for tub-time reading.

I'm just plain old lazy and selfish and impatient.

If I want to read an ebook, I want to read it NOW!

My SONY doesn't read secure mobipocket, or any mobipocket for that matter, and I don't want to take the time to do any stripping or conversions because I want to read NOW.

I want to buy an eBook NOW, from where it is listed cheapest in whatever format, NOW. Just buy it and download it onto whatever device will handle the format the best.

And if my other reader is charging I don't want to wait and I don't want to read on it while charging, I want to read NOW. (Like on my other *new* eBook reader that I win from MobileRead.)

Now I'm going off to the famous eBook Reader Matrix with the nice new layout to find out the best mate for my SONY so that I have the *most possible* formats covered, NOW.

And I'm a Canadian with friends in Quebec and I always vote for Germany and Portugal and the blue one next to the fish whenever I can.

Did I tell you I was selfish and lazy and impatient. (But also lovable and nurturing and welcoming whenever possible.)

So I don't have to spend the money to buy my son one! How's that for selfish? Then I can spend that money to get myself an upgrade to my reader, but I can also still keep it. As the situation stands now, if I upgrade my reader, my son gets it. Since I want a different type of device to go along with my EZ Reader (coveting a Smart Q7) it'd be nice to have both technologies available. I really don't want to give up my EZ Reader - I'm selfish, I want both!

Exactly! Keep one for reading ashore and one for the tub!

Cool!

I don't need one, or want one. BUT, I want to win one just so I can show it off to everyone and go

"neiner neiner neiner, HA!!"

I could read in front of people and if they tried to start a conversation, tell them go buy their own.

I want one so I can dismantle it and use all the little bits of plastic and metal and circuit and screen as shims to keep my bookcases level, or use as bookmarks.

Cheers,

I want to win the contest because:

-I want to look cooler than my friends with my great new toy
-I want to look more intelligent carrying around hundreds of books and telling everyone I read them all
-I want to be able to tell everyone it is a special reader that was use by the Dalaï-Lama, so I look even cooler
-I don't think I deserve to carry pbooks with me because they are heavy, and they might disrupt the attention of admirers from my incredible features

Is that selfish enough for you?
