While you're thinking about buying a kindle, you can also download ebooks to read on your computer. There are many different devices to choose from, feel free to ask questions in the forums.

I plan on getting a Kindle whenever I have the money--I hope this is soon because I've been wanting one for a looooong tiiiiiime.

But, anyways, I'm joining as an author...yes, I wrote and published a book at fourteen.

Yupper...it's on Kindle, but nothing else (there is a PDF download somewhere...idk where it is). I'd probably be stretching myself too thin if I went to other devices.

Dawson, thanks for dropping in. I found your book Double Life listed at Amazon.com in both paperback and a Kindle edition. (... and I purchased the Kindle edition.) I would hope that you work with your publisher to distribute the electronic version to other retailers (or sell directly from your own web site) so that it will be available to non-Kindle-owners. (The Kindle isn't sold outside the USA, so most of the English-reading people around the world don't have access to a version they can read on their devices.)

Thanks for the welcome! I used the MobiPocket Creator to make my book in the correct format for Kindle (.prc) but I haven't released it on Mobipocket as of right now...the main problem is the paperwork that you have to file to do it (I hate paperwork).

The thing is, I'm self-published so I don't have a publisher to do all this stuff for me, so I'm very much on my own unless I want to shell out a hundred bucks at the least for people to do it for me. I DO have an eBook (pdf) version available on my self-publishing site of choice (Lulu.com), but I need to lower the price (it's at four dollars--EEK!). This will only take a couple minutes, then I will front the book here if you use a PC.
