Gen3: When will the new FW really be available?
When will it be available? Will it be available? Long time overdue, but what'll happen in the end?! What do you think???
![]() Edit: I was the first one to vote for October! Last edited by gerraldo; 08-26-2009 at 05:48 PM. |

Do we really need yet another poll on the same topic?

Every optimistic, I've voted for September.
I should note I was wrong in the last poll (five months ago!): https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42882 Checking that poll, I see that just over 50% still have a chance of being proven right. |

not sure about the point of us guessing when it will be. Is there a prize? (apart from a new firmware :-))

And the Opus is a pretty good ePub Reader - it has far less intrusive marginal numbers than most other ePub devices do.

But it does not mark the position correctly as I understand it since the page number is always on the top. So more exact referencing is not possible.

No, the page number can be anywhere in the right margin. It marks a specific line of text, which is invariant with font size changes.

The page number is repeated in the status bar, too - perhaps that what you were thinking of. If the page number changes during the course of a page, eg if the page number "50" occurs half way down the page, the status bar then shows "49-50 of 200" (or whatever the total number of pages is).
