It's odd. In my mind there have been three periods of "splendor" in the PalmOS world.
1. The early days of the Palm devices when it all got started and became popular. 2. The era of the Sony Clie devices that seemed to turn datebook pdas into full fledged handheld computers with nice hires color screens, decent battery life, storage cards, Doc to Go, mp3 players, video players, remote email, and nice solid hardware. 3. Right now! We just suffered through a dry spell after Sony left the market. Now we have some wonderful devices with great screens, fast processors, good battery life, and lots of memory (except for the Treo, but it's a fantastic groundbreaking device in its own right!) Sure there are some questions about the future, but right now we're experiencing one of the best times ever in the PalmOS world and I, for one, am enjoying it! |

It's all relative I guess. Just a few months ago everyone was raving about the Treo650 and speculating about the Lifedrive. Now the spotlight is on the upcoming Windows Mobile 5.0 devices like the HTC Universal.

Why am I still a Palm User? Because my Tungsten T3 satisfies my needs and still works perfectly. There really isn't anything more to say

I just don't see any need to upgrade to anything at the moment. Sure having a LifeDrive would be nice, but I don't have any need for it (and at $700 Canadian, it's not cheap!). I am looking at the Nokia 770, but I'll only be able to make any sort of a decision on that once we, at least, have the general price of the unit... But yes, Palm OS users seem to stick to Palm when it does everything they need it to. |

Like several others already mentioned, I still use my Tungsten T3 because it still does everything I want it to. And everytime I come up with something new for it to do, there's usually a program for it!

Why do I keep using a Palm. Its nice and simple. Having a PalmOS device has pretty much taught me that efficiency doesnt equal complexity. And throughout all of the models that I have owned, each has done the job, but very instinctly. I think that WinMob will get there, and to some point is. But the general interface and the idea of mounting power to equal ability doesnt always equate to being a "perfect for me" kind of device.
Now, having said that. I now have added a Treo 600 to my collection. I think that besides my m515 adn T5, there has been no device that has stretched my ability to be mobile, and was not an intrusion at the same time. Thats ability to be ubiqitous is my idea of tech that works. And for me the PalmOS does it best. |

I've used Palm devices since the Professional came out. I keep all my personal data that way, synchronizing by using JPilot on a Linux desktop computer. My Tungsten E has proven wonderfully reliable, the display suits me fine, I can keep all sorts of reading material on it that I'll never get around to reading, and in general I couldn't be more pleased.
I may have to just go back to a longhand DayTimer, though, if Palm OS is replaced by a Microsoft system. I simply will not participate in that, and will toss my Tungsten E with great regret. |

Palm devices have better Macintosh support right out of the box. You don't have to pay extra to sync with Address Book or Entourage.
