I think I found my LOLcat!

So I stopped by the local no-kill shelter today to say hi to the kitties, and I found this guy:

I'm not sure what's up with his eye, but he's been at the shelter for a year (since he was a kitten) and wouldn't leave me alone. I really wish I could take more, all of them looked so sad and in need of snuggles

So I filled out the paperwork, and said I'd have my mom call next week when she comes back from vacation (she's my reference). They said they wouldn't be able to hold him for me, which is OK (hey, if someone beats me to the punch, there many more cats to choose from!).

The volunteers you could tell were pretty cranky that day, this woman dropped off her cat (you aren't supposed to drop off on weekends) because her house was getting foreclosed on that day. She only had the cat for three years. Then another girl came in with a dog she wanted to drop off because "Her niece is allergic." I think I'd lose all faith in humanity if I worked there.

Anyway, keep your fingers crossed for me (and Tsunami too!)

Good luck Lilac - hope it works out for you both!

Did they tell you why they call him Tsunami?

What an expression! He looks like a character, it should be a perfect fit for both of you.

It is a pity that you didn't have additional references that they could call on the spot so you could take Tsunami home with you that day. (Or would he take you home?)

Good luck. It sounds like the start of a great friendship.

I have additional references, but my mom will probably get very mad at me if I got a cat while she was gone. So this way I avoid temptation

What a cute pussy! What trauma happened to his eye? He wasn't abused or anything?

It can be hard looking after a cat that has been abused previously, my aunty had one, such a grumpy moggy.

No, I don't think so. He was dropped off by a family with "inadequate space." I'm going to find out though.

Good Luck. I hope that the kitty-cat is waiting expectantly by the door next time you go there.

When I got there today they mobbed me! It was right when they opened, so maybe they had a lonely night

Just talked to my mom, she's really excited. I'm going to go once more with her when she gets back.
