I was about to suggest you make your way to the Kindle part of the forum to get answers to your problem, but I see you've done so.

So, I'll just say, "Welcome aboard, Patricia". Welcome aboard, Patricia.

Cheers,
Marc

Hello Patricia and welcome!

I didn't think people had time to drown in Australia. I thought the sharks ate them first.

Hello Patricia,
Welcome. I'm also in Australia....Geelong actually. I cannot help with Kindle questions, sorry, but I am very interested to hear how you go with a Kindle in Australia. I am surprised to hear that Amazon sent you a replacement to Australia. Can I ask how you got your first Kindle? Was it from eBay? I considered a Kindle but then decided against it since the wireless feature wouldn't work here. I have an iLiad v2. I love the iLiad, but would consider a Kindle if Amazon would sell it here since I buy lots computer texts from Amazon already & I find their prices good (if only I didn't have to pay for shipping).

Hello Jodi. My Kindle was a gift from daugher in Mexico who sent it to me via a friend in US who then sent it to me. When that Kindle failed Amazon sent the replacement to the US friend again who then sent on to me here in Melbourne. Crazy system isn't it?

Yes, it is crazy. lol.
I have a few contacts in the USA, so I am sure that I could get one if I wanted....but I settled on the iLiad v2 and I plan on using that until I upgrade to a colour device. Well, trying to stick to that anyway...it's hard since I am a gadget lover.

Are you going to bring your Kindle to the Melbourne meet on Saturday?
