Please help me!

I just flashed my 505 with the hacked firmware to install the different menu fonts and clock.

It seemed to go ok, but now it won't read from my sd card

Everything else seems to be acting normally, the sd card mounts as usual when I hook the reader up to my pc, and if I transfer a book from the sd card to the main memory using my pc I can then read it on the reader.

I tried to reflash, but of course the device won't read the sd card, so nothing happens.
I tried putting the flashing software in the device memory but it wouldn't let me do it that way.

I have tried two sd cards and have tried reformatting them both. I also deleted the .xml files from the device and tried a hard reset. Nothing has worked.

I haven't found any other posts about this problem, what should I do?

It just occurred to me that I might have put an older version of the firmware on it and lost sdhc capabilities.
I dug out a non sdhc sd card and tried that, no luck

Will the firmware updater from sony fix this?
I run Linux so I can't try it because it's for windows.

Yes, reflash the stock firmware with the updater then try again.

I guess I have to find someone with a windows machine then
Of all the things to go wrong, it would have to be the sd card reader wouldn't it?

Ok, I went to a friend's house and used her windows machine.
My books ok again now

It's nice to use windows occasionally to remind myself why I'm so happy that I'm a Linux user....
