Greetings from the City by the Bay

Hello, Friends and fellow readers-

As a daily BART commuter, I've read hard-copy books, played games on my PSP, listened to music, podcasts, and even watched TV shows on iPods and an iPhone.

Despite being a gadget freak, I somehow resisted the urge to purchase the original Kindle - but after seeing more and more of the Kindle2 on BART, online reviews, and elsewhere - I finally took the plunge.

After just a few days, I've already got enough content to keep me busy for a month, and am nearly through my first purchased title. Just started exploring other channels for getting content for the device, and found myself here. Look forward to exploring and participating in the community.

Thanks to all for the effort to establish, maintain and support this site.

Poor DG... still hoping kindle might pull ahead? Or at least somewhat close to the rear flank? Kudos for the overly optimistic attitude!

I'm also a daily BART commuter; I have a Sony PRS-505. I used to use a PDA, but it kept running out of battery on the trip home. (Right now, my Sony's being sent in for fixing, so I've fallen back to puzzle magazines for my commute. Bleh.)

I've taken to carrying around a business-card sized info card mentioning Mobileread and a few ebook sites, for people who ask "what is that? Where do you get books for it?"
