Colonel Gaddafi

Anybody can recommend me some good books on Colonel Gaddafi? Written by somebody not slavishly devoted to the US party line, ideally.

And I wouldn't mind it if it was available in eBook form. If that's a problem, perhaps somebody with some pull with the Lybian leadership could suggest that they release it as a DRM-free ePub?

Thanks!

True. It was the NOT slavishly devoted to the US party line that tripped my trigger......

As Zelda said.

It is my personal view that North American media (the largest television news sources and the largest newspapers) on certain subjects frighteningly approaches in quality that of the former Soviet Union.

Trigger for what? You do realize the man is considered a respected statesman and a humanitarian giant in many African countries. (Some of which likely have views as slavishly subjective as that of most US sources.)

Oh gross, gag. We kicked his butt and killed his kids. The victor gets to write history, you know. He's just a sad old bloated relic now. What more do you need to know about him?

Forgive my saying so, but this is just a slightly less inarticulate way of saying, "No, I have no useful knowledge on this subject whatsoever." than DesertGrandma's own posts.

I think he's an interesting character; and he's ruled Libya through an interesting period of world history.

The truth probably lies somewhere in the spectrum between the various stereotypes - it usually does.

This, from a guy who cites wikipedia. Good luck finding something to read that paints that old terrorist as a sympathetic character, unless, of course, you enjoy reading anti-US inflammatory rhetoric. I had no idea you were prejudiced or jealous against the greatest nation and culture that the world has ever produced. I consider your comments about my country and DesertGrandma to be very insulting. Don't talk to me anymore, I am putting you on my "ignore" list.

Why do you feel the need to share this with me? Free country and all.

Ps.: I believe Americans only killed his adopted daughter. The rest of his children lead productive and not particularly politically involved lives.

You may find some information among these PDFs. The image is more informative; he is as mad as a mongoose.
