Hello and Thanks

Hello - I had no idea how much I would enjoy the Sony Reader. Making a book stay open had become a major distraction to the pleasure of reading. Also I am very grateful to the members of this forum who have provided such wonderful transcriptions of the classics. Thank you!

Welcome to MR, Seiber.

Since you have already found the beautifully formatted ebooks by some of our very dedicated members here, make sure to check out the Deals, Freebies, and Resources thread. There is the Writers' Corner where some of the member authors post about their work and (at the very top of the page) the Wiki for additional information.

Jump in and ask questions if you need help.

I have the *BLUE* 505 and absolutely love it. I think the very first thing I learned was about the formats that the Sony uses (epub, lrf, Sony's DRM'd version of lrf -> lrx, pdf, and ADE) plus the fact that you can download books from the library. (I'm still learning from the members here)

Have fun with your new 505.

Hi Seiber and welcome to MobileRead. I've had a Sony 505 for well over a year now and really like it.

Welcome!! I love my 505 too. I have quite a collection of classics and other books on it, but I mainly use it for library books! Have you checked out your local library? I was always a big patron of libraries and so I was thrilled to find I could continue that (I still remember the day I found out... ah, Christmas Day and mobileread...) .

Enjoy your reader and welcome to the forum!
